Marcela Mendoza is a dedicated midwife who is deeply passionate about providing holistic, woman-centered care. She currently works in a midwifery-led care model in Adelaide, offering individualized, evidence-based support to women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
With a strong commitment to women’s rights and respectful maternity care, Marcela integrates holistic practices such as prenatal yoga and hypnobirthing into her work. She believes in nurturing both the body and mind, empowering women to experience birth with confidence, calm, and informed choice.
Beyond her clinical practice, Marcela is actively engaged in midwifery education on a global scale. She is dedicated to strengthening midwifery-led models of care, sharing knowledge, and advocating for respectful, rights-based maternity care worldwide.
In addition to her midwifery work, Marcela is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Leadership and Management. This further enhances her ability to drive positive change within maternity care, support midwives, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of holistic and midwifery-led care in Australia and beyond.
Being part of the VIDM commitee is an honor. It is a unique opportunity to learn from global perspectives, share experiences, and further my understanding of the challenges and successes within the field. It also allows me to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about improving midwifery education, maternal care and empowering women.
